Meanwhile, Jim has looked at the world a little differently and implores his guests to ride an omnimover around the edge of an indoor coaster for Roman Mars's Most Interesting Coaster Ever attraction, which might also be a TED Talk.

Up first, Jim holds a meeting over the issues that plagued the original dino themed entertainment complex as he brings to the world Jurassic Parks And Recreation Town Hall Meeting, featuring a strange meat-eating stegosaurus. Then, Scottye wants everyone who visits Party Town to know what is and is NOT a good drug, and has hired Theodore Rex to help him showcase just what will happen if you go down the bad path of illicit substances. We then spend way too long discussing what exactly the title character of that 1996 buddy cop adventure actually looks like.

This week, Scottye faces the existensial crisis that is learning about the Disney Parks reservation system in real time for your enjoyment, we do some quizzes about the past, and then get nostalgic for our attractions. First up, Scottye uses a bit of his Tower of Power to rebuild the old Nickelodeon Hotel from just off Route 536, complete with all the horrors it was known for. Then, Jim sends guests on a trip through time (and little hard drive space) as they tackle The Oregon Trail (sponsored without asking by the Minnesota Educational Computing Consortium) by fording rivers, shooting wildlife, and hopefully not dying of dysentery. It's fun for the whole family.

This week, we discuss the New Disney Look guidelines and take a quiz about Disney sports movies because we are giving Party Town and JimCity some attractions based on sports we think our guests would excel at. First up, Jim brings his guests into a theater for a little Battle Improv, a game so made up he's not entirely sure on all the rules. Meanwhile, Scottye brings his guests into an arena and pits them against each other in a little duel he calls Drink Monsters, which might end up being a real game eventually, knowing how his mind works. Not sure if YuGiOh wants the sponsoring partnership with Coors or whatever though. It's a work-in-progress. Give him time.

First up, Scottye buys up the theme park rights to 90s film and then disregards the plot entirely just so he can build something known as The Mothman Prophecies, a strange hybrid of about forty-three different popular and not-so-popular attractions. Then, Jim lets the vaccine get to his head, apparently, as he goes on a tangent explaining something he refers to as Neighborhood Watch. He apologizes in advance.

Then, Jim waves a book around like a lunatic as guests find themselves in the audience of one rather chatty telepathic gorilla. One can only assume the queue features the song "Do The Evolution" by Pearl Jam.

Then, Scottye brings his Party Town patrons into the kitchen of Titus Adronicus for a feast, that goes about as well as one should expect if they happen to be familiar with this particular tragedy.

Apologies for episode lateness and any potential audio snafus. It's been that kind of week.

This week, we get creative and interactive as we create some new attractions for JimCity and Party Town. First up, Scottye sets the bar and then steps up to it to allow his guests to create their own fanciful cocktails. Let's just hope the judges find them as tasty as they are full of that good, good booze. Then, Jim invites guests into an indiscrete location to form their own fanatical brotherhoods, or at least their iconography. If things get too out of control, I'm sure security will be there with tasers.

In said Rho he places, yes, _JimCity Limits_, which is exactly what it sounds like. Scottye, sick of music attractions after last season, then spends the rest of the episode going over his park's BGM soundtrack.

This week, we discuss an unfortunate incident involving bugs and an unnannounced bunch of dinosaurs before getting down to business with making some, well, multiple choice additions to our theme parks.

First up, Jim invites guests to step into Jiminy Studios and don some VR goggles as they strap into Absttraction, a ride all about creating your own art that you can take home (for a price, of course).

Then, we take a mild detour into the world of Mountain Dew. It only very tangentially makes any sense in context. Jim still has not experienced Voo-Dew.

Scottye rights the theme park ship and decends into The Big City of Party Town to Fake It Till You Make It, a grand tower of bars and lounges that you must navigate through by sheer charm and wit for a chance to visit The Penthouse. If you don't have what it takes, don't worry, you can still get rather drunk and ride a bunch of elevators.

This week, we disperse with pleasantries and quizes and get right to the meat of the season as we discuss the themes and layouts of our theme parks. First up, Scottye razes Scotland and has taken up residence in Party Town, a rather adult themed park featuring the sights, sounds, and booze of all the best party cities in America. Then, Jim leaves behind the burning husk of JimCity 2000 and embarks on christening JimCity 2.000 (you see, the period there is important), a creative and artist expanse that, like Disneyland, will never be complete - but for vastly different reasons than Walt's.

Then, Scottye decides to fix a problem in the only way a theme park can, by having you the guest design a new drummer for the band and put it (it doesn't need a gender, its life is not sacred) through its paces. This week, we do not discuss Mary Poppins Returns and instead find out which Moana song is most like us. It gets confusing. Then, we give our music based theme park a bit of that Hamilton charm as Scottye builds a story coaster (shocking!) based on the first act of the musical while Jim settles on just a single song, and has trouble remembering things from Alexander's life despite listening to the OCR a zillion times. We hope this recording will be enough.

This week, Walt Disney World has (dare we say foolishly) reopened and we find out which Mickey Ears best suit our strange personalities while far, far away from its turnstiles. Then, we visit our own theme park to add in attractions based on the late 90s jam "Virtual Insanity". First up, Jim invites guests into a twisted padded tunnel for tons of potentially dangerous fun but sadly without CGI birds flying at your face. There may still be a blood pool by the couch though, so watch out for that. Then, Scottye takes the video's concept and expands it to create as much maze-like mayhem as possible. Find the cheese in the center of the attraction and you no doubt will win some zany headgear.

This week, we spend an incredibly long amount of time taking an incredibly long quiz about Cedar Point because, well, Kid Rock we guess????? Then, we bring Kid Rock into our music theme park and things go...rather poorly. First up, Jim does a virus un-approved VR coaster where you take the reins as Mr. Rock and hit Ba's wit other Ba's...or something like that. Then, Scottye showcases the Kidrousel Of Rockgress, or whatever, as we force the Sherman Brothers to present the history of white trash in midwestern America. Obviously, this was recorded on the fourth of July. Happy Independence Day, and Jim did pay a dollar for a certain track that appears towards the end of the episode.

This week, we fail at finding a relevant quiz and instead answer questions about A Goofy Movie before giving our music theme park some attractions based on everyone's favorite genre - DISCO. First up, Scottye invites in the funk as he brings guests aboard Earth, Wind, And Fire's Afro Orbiters, an attraction that I assume will eventually be replaced with The Princess And The Frog theming in about 25 years. Then, Jim asks his guests to Escape To Funkytown as he takes this Lipps, Incorporated diddy and does all the genres through a wild roller coaster of a four minute attraction.

Then, Jim almost commits manslaughter on The Brass Monkey Carousel, a diabolic spinner featuring tilts, twists, racing(?), and little brass monkeys to grab and get, like, a prize or something.

First up, Jim invites guests into the mind of Dolly as she dreams of confronting Jolene, who may or may not be an eldritch horror. Meanwhile, Scottye takes the OppAtt formula of using Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin and turns it completely around.

This week, we begin by utterly failing to answer questions about Disney song lyrics before switching instead to the real meat and potatoes of giving our fantabulous music-based theme park some attractions based on everyone's favorite Jock Jams. First up, Scottye does some recycling, sort of, and lets guests take flight as the basketball from the 90s opus Space Jam. Then, Jim calls on the spirit realm and the local costume shop to bring forth an attraction based on the Village People's "Macho Man" (dig it). Of course, the late Slim Jim spokesman makes a supernatural appearance in this helicopter ride around the titular Village. And if that wasn't manly enough, stay till the end to hear about next week's challenge.

First up, Scottye makes a roll of the dice to send Martin Crane away from Seattle and maybe to a Cheers in space? It's complicated. Then, Jim combines the excitement of answering live radio psychology calls with the sheer boredom that is a state fair Tornado attraction. Don't worry, it's only slightly longer than the American Adventure in experience length. We end, somehow, with stunts, lightsabers, and the hit tv show Wings, you know, just to go out of the season on a real high note.

It's our season finale and we gotta tear this puppy down to the ground! After discussing how we would fill our Epic Universe park up with lots of action-able employees, Scottye lets one of them set up some fireworks on a Giant Swing. This goes rather poorly and has the expected results. Meanwhile, Jim grants one lucky winner a chance to live the dream of destroying a theme park the Project Mayhem way while also creating tons of really akward band names.

As per usual, we take a week off between seasons, however with Christmas on the horizon, you will instead have to wait until January 6th to see what season 8 has in store. See you next year!

Let's Get Moving!

This week, we discuss some of the insanity at this year's IAAPA conference in Orlando before setting about giving our very own Epic Universe it's own dangerous transportation systems. First up, Jim creates an in-park monorail-ish contraption that just so happens to routinely derail around the load/unload stations, leading to some harrowing balancing acts as guests try (and possibly fail) to make it to their next destination without falling to the sidewalks below. Meanwhile, outside the park, Scottye has instituted a guest proving ground to show that you have the fortitude to spend the day in a theme park that will most definitely cause bodily harm and/or death. Presumably you do not need a ticket to get to the turnstiles themselves, but you might need good insurance.

This week, we decide to prove whether or not the sum is equal or greater to its parts as we combine the themes of every OppAtt season to create one wild ride. First up, Scottye goes all the way back to season one to call in a favor from a masterpiece as he presents Juicy Peaches' Sidekick Academy, a glitched fly-and-shoot training simulator that may not exactly pass muster as education but excels in flavor. Then, Jim decides that what Captain America really needs is two asses as he installs both himself and Scottye in the role of the great hero to then travel back in time to set the other host on a whole new path. The only problem is that it may be built out of really cheap materials and be held together by bailing wire, medicated adhesive strips, and willpower. Just imagine anything Chester & Hester would build, but not even good enough to be on top of an old parking lot at Animal Kingdom.

This week, we record well in advance thanks to Jim's upcoming vacation, leading Scottye to try to be INCREDIBLY SPOOKY for a November show. After reliving a terrifying scenario from his childhood, we set about giving our very own Epic Universe some randomized attractions! First up, Jim calls upon the (other) Patron Saint of the show, Guy Fieri, and a little bit of La Croix beverages to get guests wet and wild with Flavor Drowns, a slot machine-esque flume into various flavored waters at various levels of pressure. Then, Scottye sends guests into some sort of living quarters in a forest (or something) to end up in quite the haunted house escape room affair.

This week, we set our sights on giving our own Epic Universe some attractions based on video games. Surely no one has ever thought of doing such a thing! First up, Jim swims his way from the 50s, to the 80s, and to today as he combines the original flying saucers of Disneyland, the Ninja Turtles, and a slight wiring malfunction at Volcano Bay to recreate the sewer levels of the original TMNT video game. Caution, you my get shockingly wet. Then, Scottye embraces the crazy as he sends guests into the world of Psychonauts on Meat Circus Mania, and somehow this of all things has nothing to do with Guy Fieri. This week, we begin with some discussions about Epcot's recent night time changes, and then segue into Scottye's new podcast-within-a-podcast Intoxications: Reflections Of Puke (I'm sure it's a working title), all about really bad times in the Happiest Place On Earth. That out of the way, we turn to giving our Epic Universe some gritty attractions based on other more famous attractions. First, Jim invites guests to visit the Big Apple on The Concrete Jungle Cruise, featuring minutes upon minutes of lame jokes and naked hobos. It's fun for the whole family! Then, Scottye heads back in time (???) as he joins Commandeer Buzz on a campaign to crush the evil Adolf Von Zurg and save the so-called "illegal" aliens from a life of internment. This seems perfect for the new vision of Tomorrowland. All that's missing is a gift shop.

Let's Get Drunk!

This week, the Skyliner is open! Also, LSD! Maybe that'll help you see through those silly decals, huh? Also, dang guys, sorry the show is late coming to the feed. We spent this episode talking about making attractions where you have to be slightly drunk and Scottye maybe took that too heart. Or maybe he was just busy. Something like that. Anyway, first up - Jim puts gets in the center of a collossal mirror maze known as A Series Of Unfortunate Reflections. If you've ever been through a normal mirror maze, it's like that - only way bigger and way worse for drunk people. If you make it out of that okay, then you can hop behind the wheel of Scottye's go-kart mania where you actually have to keep drinking or you get yeeted off the course and probably into our omnipresent water park. Also, you might not actually be driving. Also, weapons! Grab them blue shells and some Pabst blue ribbons and meet us on the track, It's a-Go Time!

Let's Get Spooky And Childish!

This week, we discuss new signs, (hopefully) fake scripts, and do our best to give our very own Epic Universe some very spooktacular kiddie attractions. First up, Scottye invites kids of all ages to experience The Ride Where Everything Goes Wrong, a menagerie of animatronics from around the multiverse converging around a boat that somehow has wheels. It has to be technically possible, as we've seen it at Disney Springs! Then, Jim decides that it isn't such a small world that we can't do some Mary Blair murder and yeets those dolls squarely into the Haunted Mansion where they will forever be entangled in your nightmares. It doesn't so much have a name as it has a blood-curdling sound that fills your soul the moment you envision such a hellscape. Isn't he supposed to be the reasonable one?

Let's Get Combat Trained!

This week, after spending probably way too long looking at Epcot Food & Wine menus, your hosts set about giving their very own Epic Universe an attraction that doubles as military training. Oh the places we will go! First up, Jim sends a crack team of conventioneers and corporate lackeys into the suburbs of Chicago to rescue Kevin McAllister as Macauley Culkin Presents A Series Of Unfortunate Events (Sponsored By The US Army), a hell house of zany traps and terrorists just waiting for some team building exercises. Meanwhile, in another large building nearby, Scottye "invites" guests to survive (with airsoft rifles) another round of Legends Of The Hidden Temple: The New Class (we never really nailed down a title). It's time to fulfill some of those sweet, sweet revenge fantasies on those temple guards, at any rate. Winners get a free Frothy Ramen.

Let's Get Off Track!

This week, we discuss a harrowing (and supercharged) experience Scottye had at DragonCon, and then give our Epic Universe a different sort of trackless attraction. First, Scottye finds a way to separate one coaster into a quintet with The Titan, quite possibly the largest ever single attraction at an OppAtt theme park, because it's not exacty a single attraction. Anyway, one would think Jim would not be as completely crazy as this, until he decides to create Cool Runnings Presents A Series Of Unfortunate Events, a bobsled attraction that is more like actual bobsledding than any rollercoaster themed after the Matterhorn or whatever. Oh, and four sleds go down at once. Good luck with that.

Next week, things will get even worse.

Let's Get Seasonal!

This week, after some D23 discussion, we set about putting some seasonal modifications into our very own Epic Universe. First, Jim sets the stage for disaster as he randomly chooses the contestants on American Ninja Warrior Presents A Series Of Unfortunate Events, a rain or shine (or dark of night) show featuring your favorite stunts from your favoritiest TV show, especially in the middle of winter. Don't worry, there may or may not be some water to land in should you fall. Speaking of maybe landing in water, Scottye goes even farther back into television history for inspiration as he invites his guests to partake in Rocket J. Squirrel's School Of Flying/Flight School, a technically possible wingsuit rollercoaster (up until the grand finale)! Bullwinkle may not be able to pull a rabbit out of a hat, but he should be able to rescue you from the wave pool. Things are only going to get worse this season.

It's a brand new season and you know that means it's time for a brand new theme park! No, it's not Universal Studios Kentucky, but it is our very own Epic Universe! We are beating Comcast to the punch by throwing all of our own ideas at the wall and seeing what sticks. First, Jim tries his hand at, you know, just knocking off what Universal is doing and adding in the TurboGrafx-16. Scottye, fresh off a trip to Central Florida, has found a co-conspirator in his surly friend Jersey Dan to bring to you, the listener, The Most Dangerous Theme Park In The Universe. Action Park can go take a long trip off a short Atlantic City Boardwalk, because this season, Danger is all of our middle names.

A New Fast & Furious Supercharged

Is this the real life? This week, it's our suitably supercharged season finale, and now we've gone and thrown it all away to remaster the replacement for Disaster in Fast & Furious: Supercharged! After a quick quiz to find our perfect angry and quick boy toys, Jim lets it slip that the only thing he could come up with was the exact same attraction, but maybe with a steering wheel thrown in. Then, Scottye lets loose with some thunderbolt and lightning as he explains to everyone within earshot just how much the original attraction truly means to him. It's not so much a re-do as it is a declaration of love.

Remember, no new episode next week as we get plans in order for Season 7 (yeah, seven!) which is good because Scottye has gone a-traveling anyway. See ya in two weeks!

A New It's Tough To Be A Bug

This week, after a penultimate quiz about our personalities, we set off to repair the 4-D antstravaganza (not sorry) beneath the Tree Of Life of Disney's Animal Kingdom Of Disney. Jim sticks with a talent show, of sorts, and replaces the bugs with Rescue Rangers and a rather annoyed waterfowl. Then, Scottye settles us down for a relaxing 45 minute (at least) trip into It's Tough To Be At Animal Kingdom, an ASMR journey away from the Joe Rohde's heat nightmare and into something more calming and air-conditioned. You can keep your punk-ass giraffes. We have alcohol.

A New Gran Fiesta Tour

This week, we set out to do something about the rear forty perecent of Epcot's Mexico pavilion as we try to overhaul The Gran Fiesta Tour better than Disney could ever do. After a quick personality quiz that Scottye somehow fails, he brings guests onto five different variations of his attraction featuring everything from ducks to llamas and even outside entertainment and podcast properties, all with a hot dog to match (for some reason). Jim goes a slightly more feasible route, turning Donald from the goat to the hero in a way only he can and the only way Donald would ever allow (by having it be a complete sham).

A New Mission: SPACE

This week, after a small struggle to find a Mission:SPACE quiz, we settle instead to test our knowledge of Best Picture snub Space Jam. As soon as Shawn Bradley returns to normal, we set out to the momumental task of removing the bad taste from Epcot that is the aforementioned Mission:SPACE. First, Jim does what he apparently always does in these situations, and just adds the Muppets. If Disney won't use them, we sure will. Then, Scottye gets into some magic mishaps as he invites guests to strap into a tiny chamber with(?) David Blaine in an effort to escape inevitability on The Death Rider. We presume it works, or else that gift shop at the exit is going to be a mighty lonely place.

A New Great Movie Ride

This week on our program, we quiz ourselves on the late, great Great Movie Ride and then set about trying to remaster it for generations to come (in our imaginations). First up, Scottye invites guests to experience The Great Bad Movie Ride, featuring everything you know and hate to love from the silver screen and the bargain bin at an indoor flea market. It's really tearing me apart. Then Jim decides to play around inside Disney's very own wheelhouse as he showcases The Great Remake Ride, featuring all your favorite live-action versions of Disney's animated canon, as well as some that don't yet exist, but probably will eventually. Sadly it's not exactly a shot-for-shot redo of the original attraction, which might hurt it at the box office.

A New Country Bear Jamboree

With recent rumors of the possible closure of Florida's version of the Jamboree, your wonderful hosts set out to maybe #savethejamboree, or at least try to do something better than a puppet version of Woody's Roundup. First, Jim decides that if one attraction can be closed and redone, then toucan as he combines the bears and the tiki birds into a musical cacophony featuring hula skirts, straw hats, and some tiki gods in overalls. Then, Scottye leans into the rumor mill with vigor as he pitches Five Nights At Forky's, an existenial crisis and rock show all mixed into one.

Also, Jim looks into the mirror and gives his opinion on the more outspoken fans of the Disney Parks and their recent actions as pertains to some of the rumors floating around the twitterverse and beyond.

A New Expedition Everest

We begin this week with a very odd quiz about becoming a Disney animal. Somehow neither of us are Max Goof (he's a dog, after all). We then switch gears to the Animal Kingdom, and fixing what some might say is only just barely broken - a roller coaster themed after India or whatever. Scottye falls down a Disco Yeti rabbit hole (yeti hole) and somehow finds his favorite chef, while Jim goes on a Big Thunder-esque hunt for treasure with everyone's most favoritiest butler. You can almost hear Joe Rohde frantically scribbling notes in the background.

A New Discovery Island

This week, we set our sights on the dilapidated and abandoned husk of land known as Walt Disney World's Discovery Island. After taking a quick drinking tour around the world at Epcot, Jim leads his guests onto the Steamboat Willie and to a world of animation history, featuring zany tours, art classes, black and white props, color changing magic, and the Disney Cruise's own Animator's Palate Restaurant. Then, Scottye takes his tour group through the potentially easiest and probably wildest 'haunted deserted theme park with smoke monsters' escape room you've ever seen. Only two words can accurately describe both of these experiences, and we whisper when we say them: very expensive.

A New Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh

This week, your honey-filled hosts tackle a redo of the maligned The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh. With the success of Tokyo's Pooh's Hunny Hunt, it seems only fitting that both of our attractions go as far away from being perfect specimens of trackless entertainment as possible. First, Jim clobbers a corner of Fantasyland to install a knockoff of an attraction a few hundred yards away as he invites guests to visit a Carousel Of Poohgress, featuring that brainy bear Pooh helping many of his Hundred Acre pals deal with their physicatric problems. Then, as if that wasn't bad enough, Scottye takes Pooh out of a nightmare and straight into Hell, as he must face judgment for his sins. Tigger, voiced in this attraction by the late Ed Wynn, tries to save Pooh, but finds everything has become quite a sticky situation.

A New E.T. Adventure

This week, your hosts use their superpowers (foreshadowing!) to develop new versions of Universal Studios Florida opening day attraction The E.T. Adventure. First up, Scottye gets small, gets sponsored, and gets thrown off a cliff all in the name of annoying a late night talk show host. This does, all, somehow make sense in context. Then, Jim finds inspiration in the logo for Amblin Entertainment, as he imagines an omnimover full of E.T. being a jerkass to other production companies. Somehow this makes even less sense than Scottye's idea. Finally, we finish off with naming next week's challenge, and Jim has a joke that Scottye wants no one to miss.

A New Journey Into Imagination

This week, it's all about everyone's favorite dragon and his unfavorite attraction, Journey Into Your Imagination With Figment. After a brief history lesson, Jim brings to the table an attraction to both shame and celebrate the rest of Future World as he mocks as many attractions as possible before a grand (and miraculous) reveal. Then, Scottye misremembers the closing of the original attraction in 1998 as "sometime in the 90s" and makes even the Carousel Of Progress seem timely as he introduces the world to MC Fig (and his dope, dope rhymes).

Note: There is at least some chance there will be no episode next week due to Scottye being trapped in a maternity ward. It might be next week, it'll probably be before the end of the season. The Quest For A Weenie

This week in the penultimate episode of season five, Jim gives the merchandise of Star Wars Galaxy's Edge a piece of his mind, Scottye does lots of confusing math, and then both hosts give the Mysterious Kingdom it's own royal castle weenie! First up, Scottye takes guests into The Home Of The Mad King, a walkthrough full of clues on the history of the kingdom's former (?) ruler to potentially earn a chance to recieve (steal?) your very own royal crown. Then, Jim enters a vast garden maze to find a Castle Escape of one sort, only to be captured by an evil wizard and forced to find an entirely different escape (one that maybe involves some sort of rolling and/or coasting).

The Quest For Randomness

On this week's show, we discuss Disney Parks recent bans of smoking, vaping, cotton farming, strollers with engines, kiddie wagons, Shakespeare In The Park productions, underpriced merchandise, and any ice that isn't made by Elsa who they have trapped in a refrigeration unit somewhere in the depths of Tom Sawyer Island. Then, things get...kind of random. First up, Jim finds himself on a Quest For Passage as guests must train for the difficult realities of (illegal) wagon travel outside the Mysterious Kingdom. Sure, it's a screen-based attraction, but it'll probably also readjust your spine. Best of both worlds! Then, Scottye hands guests the opportunity to experience The D20, the most random (and copyright infringing) of theme park attractions! Aliens want to share with you attractions from other worlds, be they fast and/or furious, or maybe just a small world with dragons. Roll your fate!

The Kwest For A Kraken

This week, it's that one day a year where you just might think what Disney and Universal pitch is a joke (but it isn't!), but in the Mysterious Kingdom, we don't have time for such shenanigans because there's a Kraken on the loose! First up, Scottye invites everyone on a Quest For Booty featuring pirates, caves, goggles, and a certain sort of locker - not to mention that there feisty Kraken. Then, Jim scoops up the children for a fun time in his new play area Carla Kraken's Kidzone (please for the love of god she spells it with a C), a youth-friendly menagerie of kiddie rides, caves to explore, and Carla's naughty son Craig hiding below the depths, daring to spray any and all passerbys with jets of water.

The Quest For An Escape

This week, Scottye grows litigious and then disappointed at the new Nickelodeon animated film Wonder Park, then your fine hosts try their best to design fantastical escape room attractions for the Mysterious Kingdom. First up, Jim looks for inspiration in the horror film Cube, as he tasks his guests to test the dungeon designs of a crazy orc in _Echo Security _, where every room is the same, but not quite. The Quest For The Hydra

This week, Scottye regales us with the splendor and the horror of his recent central Florida theme park vacation, then both try thier hands at creating attractions based off the mythical Hydra. First up, Scottye follows the "technically possible" show tag down a strange path as he invites sixty four guests at a time to become a part of the Hydra itself on a megacoaster inside The Hydra's Cave. Hold on to your necks for that one. Then, Jim puts his neck on the line as he pitches the tale of Mystical Martin and Mechanical Maddox, two estranged brothers with different ideas on how to explore the underwater caves near their home. Guests can join Martin's Magical Caravan or Maddox's Super Submersible and embark on their tours, ending with a (not at all surprising given the theme of this episode) confrontation with the Hydra among the rocks. Also, hydrangeas. Aren't they swell?

This week, after some news about Galaxy's Edge, your good boys set about on the challenge to create some exciting dinner theatre for the guests of the Mysterious Kingdom. Then, Scottye tasks hungry folks to not only find the entrance to his show, but also not succumb to the sweet persausions of The Society Of The Enlightened Beings. If Disney's Animal Kingdom isn't a zoo, then boy howdy these folks are absolutely not a cult.

The Quest For Something New

This week, your hosts begin by taking an online journey through the many "wonders" of Gatlinburg, TN with a combined Yelp review score of 3.2! Then, with knockoffs and imitations behind them, they set off to create a ride system that has never before been seen! First up, Scottye attaches guests to a harness on the end of a stick to allow them to battle in Verngar's School Of Magic, where they may earn badges to become the Ultimate Wizard and impress someone named Chuck. Meanwhile, Jim decides that what guests really want to do is to rescue slaves using the power of the hanging rollercoaster as they find themselves forcefully strapped into The Temple Mine Escape. As both of these attractions have some basis in the real world, they finish the show gawking at videos of similar but not too similar versions of their attractions (which is fantastic for an audio-only show, so go check us out on Twitch.tv!)

This week, after Jim learns the horrible, horrible truth of Universal Studios very own Guy Diamond, your hosts set out to bring dragons to the Mysterious Kingdom, mainly through the use of virtual reality. First up, Jim invites his guests to become their very own dragon jockeys as they search for lost souls in an old dwarven steampunk morass known as The Dragon Factory. Then, join Scottye on his quests to tame some dragons and take them on their very first flights on The Road To Draconia, where after your flight you can purchase your very own dragon puppet that is in no way copyright infringement at the princely sum known as 'lots and lots of dollars'. It wouldn't be a theme park if it was free, let's be honest.

The Quest For Goblins

This week, we discuss Scottye's vision board and a massively expensive VIP experience at WDW. Following that, we continue our quest of designing the Mysterious Kingdom by introducing some goblins into the mix. Mines continue to play a fun role in our theme park as Scottye sends guests into a bit of a kerfuffle between a village of dwarves and a village of goblins. Manage to sneak past some pesky dwarf gaurds and find yourself on a wild ride through, ahem, Tugnut's Shaft Drop, a cart coaster and drop attraction that'll have you holding onto your gorbins with all your might. Meanwhile, Jim put his guests through some anti-goblin training and into The Cave Of The Goblin King, where through the use of might, magic, and special effects you put an end to the nefarious Goblin King as well as some (probably cheaply made) puppets all in the search for treasure and probably another cheap keychain or mass-produced pin!

This week, after a quick discussion of Scottye's recent travel and Jim's ideas for the Imagination Pavilion at Epcot, we set about giving the Mysterious Kingdom some epic water-based attractions. First up, Jim sends his guests on a search for silver and gold through treacherous mines and a potentially dangerous guided tour on Calamity Cliff's Cavern Cruise as they attempt to complete the Metal Detector Quest. Then, Scottye finds a tavern (of course) where an old wizard sends guests to acquire the Magno Sword and defeat an ancient evil in The Cave Of The Leviathan as they look to finish the The Quest For The Pisces Crystal.

This week, FreeWorld gets its signature all-encompassing USA attraction that will undoubtedly draw guests from not just the states, but from the rest of the world. First up, Scottye joins his pal Michael Bay for The Totally Real Story Of The American Revolution, which as stated does involve Michael Bay, so I hope you like lizard people, jets, and girls in bikinis because this attraction will be right up your alley. Then, Jim gets decocratic as he does a mostly themeless motion simulator known as The Two Party System, a majority-wins rollercoaster that can be different every time, but not too different. Independent riders shall be mocked and shamed toward the exit, we promise.

This week, we give FreeWorld some attractions from the biggest state of the union - Alaska! First up, Jim sets his sights on the wonderful world of bush pilots with the STOLer Coaster, a medium thrill jaunt around the snow-covered peaks of an incredibly small Denali and ending with a fun splashdown. Meanwhile, Scottye decides to follow his heart and break some laws with Operation Moose Drop, a bizarre screen-based attraction with an enormous SFX budget that sees you flying across Alaska to illegally parachute in some moose. Also illegal in Alaska but not used for an attraction this week: No flamingos in barber shops.

This week, after a discussion of Stone Mountain Park in Georgia, your hosts take FreeWorld to one of the USA's unincorporated territories known as the nation of Puerto Rico. First up, Scottye invites his guests into a not-at-all-reminiscent-of-some-other-theme-park temple where they can find food, shopping, and even the official sailboat of Puerto Rico as they experience Oh No! That Dang Ol' Duck Is Missing!" (I think we got a trademark on this, right here). Join Pico and the Hedgemaster, two of Those Three Bird Guys, as they search high and low for their third band member Web Baxter (voiced obviously by Lin-Manuel Miranda). Meanwhile, Jim takes things on a slightly different turn as guests are brought inside a replica of Castillo El Morro to Experience Puerto Rico featuring virtual hanggliding around the country, some Bacardi, and a VR kayak experience through the bioluminescence of Mosquito Bay before finding out they are unable to leave unless they sit through a presentation for the FreeWorld Vacation Club. There's kiosks every seven feet in case you just want to jump right in.

We finish up the show talking about rather strange alcoholic beverages and really disturbing hot dogs. Somehow.

First up, Jim invites guests into a secret lair of the Dupont Underground to go on a time travel adventure in Biden Time. Great Scott? More like Awesome Joe, amirite? Meanwhile, Scottye hires Nic Cage to also go underneath the city and into The Halls Of Presidents, featuring everything from missing senators to zombies to horrific orange haired monsters and piles (and piles and piles) of condoms, it's everything you'd expect an attraction about the nation's capital to be.

This week, after a short discussion about the new EPCOT nighttime shows coming soon, we take FreeWorld to a hub of themed entertainment known as Florida! First, Scottye distills an entire vacation into a creepshow known as The Disna-Whirl, a madcap romp from the airport all the way to a (very expensive) in-park hotel. Meanwhile, Jim cheaps out on reasonably "good" attractions as he welcomes guests to The Central Florida Fair-O-Rama, a large pavillion featuring ferris wheels, bumper cars, slides, and even a cartoony log flume as (hopefully) free-of-copyright facsimiles of famous Disney and Universal attractions. The show then wraps up with a quick tangent into the Hall (and Shafts) of Presidents.

On this week's show, FreeWorld goes to the Mitten State of Michigan. After getting a live reaction of Scottye watching the first teaser for Toy Story 4, we set out on a midnight train for everywhere north of South Detroit as Jim gives us The Wolverine, a mobile shooting gallery attraction to first attac and then protecc a lone wolverine that has happened to wander into the state. Then, Scottye puts forth one of our more expensive attractions to date as he presents Kid Rock's BawitaBlast, a musical journey brought to you by Kid Rock and everything he stands for. At least you get to meet Warrant first and maybe end up in California somehow. We haven't exactly worked out the kinks yet.

This week, we travel to the Buckeye State of Ohio and things pretty much immediately go straight off the rails. Scottye's research team leads him to give us The Best Guess, a madcap adventure through what Ohio may have looked like if it was an episode of Jay Ward's Fractured Fairy Tales. Then, Jim drops into a culinary apocalypse known as The Chili War where some of Ohio's favorite celebrities do battle with Eldritch horrors that may or may not be covered in cheese, onions, and beans.

Also, Disney celebrated Mickey's 90th birthday and it was nonsensical and bizarrely sexual.

Challenge: Country Roads (West Virginia)

This week, Scottye shares stories from his most recent trip to Central Florida before getting into the challenge for the week of West Virginia. First up, it's an omnious dance party as Scottye brings guests Mothman's Cocaine Dance Party featuring everyone's favorite cryptozoologic celebrities. Will anyone survive the show (put on every hour on the hour)? Then, Jim tries to not embarass himself or any of his in-laws as he presents New River Rush, a waterless VR rafting attraction where you just might end up getting hit in the face by a few branches if you don't learn how to use your paddle. Still, thanks to the wonders of virtual reality, you may still get slightly wet. That's way better than dying while a cover of "Celebration" plays. Either way, we know for sure that Mothman Knows Best.

This week we head slightly north of the border to the lone star state known as Texas to find inspiration for our attractions. First up, Jim invites guests to take part in Last Rodeo, a semi-educational trip through an old rodeo arena (that might actually be a basketball court) before coming face-to-face with a terrifying clown ghost! It ain't his first rodeo, but it may well be your last!!! Meanwhile, Scottye tries to skirt various copyrights on his attraction The Baconator, a possibly even more terrifying attraction featuring Guy Fieri and the insides of a pig. If there was ever an attraction that could change your eating habits, it's this one.

This week we head out west to Californy (the kinfolk said we should) to create attractions deserving of the Golden State. Of course, Scottye immediately goes to a dispensary and comes out with High 'N' Dry, a log flume that gives riders the feeling of being on that wacky tabacky. Sometimes, things go bad. Meanwhile, Jim has gotten lost in the mountains as he invites you to board Sequoia Slalom, a wild mouse-style coaster through (and through) a cache of redwoods as though you are snowboarding the peaks of Mineral King.

We also discuss Scottye's upcoming central Florida trip as he gives shares some great news for just about everything but the trip itself.

First up, Jim pulls a Four Seasons swerve before inviting everyone to go Dancing In The Dark on his heavily modified indoor Tilt-A-Whirl that would probably leave most wishing they had just stayed off the boardwalk. Meanwhile, Scottye skirts his responsibilities and hands the reigns over to his good friend Jersey Dan, who shares with us his coaster The Jersey Devil, an attraction with a finale that might need a little rethink before potentially allowing guests to ride. It's not his fault, Scottye told him we were on the moon.

Challenge: Sweet Home Alabama!

This week, we take our all-american theme park to the home of the Crimson Tide and completely unsurprisingly both hosts use college football as jumping off points. Meanwhile, Jim pitches a crossover with NASA as he welcomes everyone to Puntsville, USA, where the Rocket City has been tasked at helping Bama Football set its sights on conquering every football team in the universe. Also, kids can join in on the fun by taking part in daily Kick, Pass, & Moonwalk competitions presented by various coaches and scientists.

Challenge: Wide Open Spaces (Random Name Attractions)

This week, after some bird-as-janitor watching somewhere in France, we get handed some random names with which to create attractions and neither of us really follows the rules. First up, Jim takes the name given to him last week and throws it out the window, instead finding a new random name - The Brass Knuckle, and decides on hiring a steampunk security gaurd to fill the name and, predictably, go haywire in order to be shut down by guests. Meanwhile, Scottye takes his name and throws it out a separate but mostly similar window and then...doesn't really give his attraction a name. THE GUESTS DECIDE! Also, guests also decide which of five attractions they get to experience in this massive show building by just how drunk they are! Featuring everything from KISS to kaiju and all the way down to happy little trees (and ZZZZs), this place has everything a discerning drinker might want.

This week, we try our hands at some devious underhanded trickery and bamboozlement as we design attractions for each other's sides of the parks. Scottye takes one look at Jim's personality and decides what JimCity needs is Spaceship Purrrrrth becuase it's not an OppAtt park without a geodesic sphere parody, especially one about animated felines. Meanwhile, in Scottland, Jim has trapped some guests in a game known as Bad Libs, a trackless maze of their own dreams and fears hosted by a spicy ginger puppet and featuring a 3-drink minimum and it's own somewhat custom beverage.

We also discuss leaving the central Orlando area, Jim's experience creating on-ride entertainment, and an extremely annoyed Scottish princess.

Meanwhile, Scottye sets up shop on the border to Scottland with JimCity's Happy Fun Ride Of Joy (or whatever it's called), a soul-stealing boat ride into an apparently secret labratory run by the maniac on the other side of the park. This week it's all about getting that sweet sweet $$ as we set about finding sponsors for our park's attractions. First, Jim corals two lucky sponsors into a familiar duel as La Croix and Captain Morgan compete in a Beverage Showdown, each creating attractions that help you feel a little drunk or a bit more refreshed, plus you can get a photo op with the Captain himself, or maybe a french hipster moose. Meanwhile, Scottye's marketing department has been burning the candle at both ends taking suggestions from everything from Motel 6 to Kmart and even Guitar Hero. These prove fruitless, however, and a truly unfortunate sponsor emerges to present Lemony Snicket's Crumudgeonly Coaster, a 3-drink minimum attraction your childhood has been waiting for. Meanwhile, Jim sets his sights back on WeDew Mountain (from episode 3 of this season) and invites guests to UBU, pronounced "You Be You", a place where you can make your dreams of taking home a member of the WeDew Crew a reality by way of drawing, computer animation, puppetry, and mask-masking.

Meanwhile, Scottye proves there was not much for Jim's guests to escape from as he wields his power to will Finkatouille into existence, where park mascot Rat Fink has kidnapped Guy Fieri and set about destroying the actual Ratatouille attraction from Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris (and coming soon to Epcot) with help from Guy himself! If physical whiplash isn't your cup of mead, then swing on over to Scottye's emotional whiplash of an attraction The End Of The World Tour where parents will be delighted in having to explain to their children exactly what they witnessed in this very faithfully retelling of the Norse story of Ragnarok. This week on our world famous program - the deepest darkest jungle attractions! Jim makes it all about himself as he invites guests to experience Jim's (Apparently) Amazing Jungle Adventure and boy is there a reason that one word is in parenthesis. Join Jim as he delights you with tales of a recent Central America jungle trek while his engineers and artists show you how everything really happened. Meanwhile on the other side of the park, Scottye takes guests down a very special river on his very own World Famous Jungle Booze, a 2-drink minimum attraction where you are also plied with alcohol during the ride. Set sail with your bartender/skipper as you visit the birthplaces of many famous alcoholic beverages and sample them as well. Things get a little wild on his jungle river, folks, and let me be the first to warn you that bathing elephants and animatronic pythons are the least of your worries.

Also, we delve into another episode of our show-within-a-show PASSFAST as Jim discusses the newest attraction of Six Flags Great America - Mardi Gras Hangover, a looping attraction that may or may not be a roller coaster (spoiler: it's not).

This week, Scottye lays out the challenge for a crazy weird kiddie ride and comes out swinging with The Exquisite Corpse, a humdinger of an attraction that appears to feature almost every popular theme park attraction rolled up into a single mystifying conflagration of fun. It also has an 8-drink minimum, so maybe save this one for later in the day. The cocktail(s) of choice are the USS Bomber for the adults (link to the recipe below) and something known as Shit for the kiddos, an amalgamation of Pixie Stix, Monster Energy drink, and...let me check the notes...muscle relaxers. Seem's perfectly reasonable. And mandatory.

Jim, on the other hand, spends most of his time developing a cartoon series about a group of palindromic animals that live in a place called Wedew Mountain which you can visit on his side of the park. Join TacoCat(traditional 2D), GoDog(stop-motion), SooMoos(CGI), and RaeBear(someone in a costume) as they have a raucous water-gun battle in their mountain clubhouse that soon goes completely out of control! Stick around for the exhibits featuring artwork and other paraphernalia from the show as well as meet-and-greets with the characters and get yourself a special (very non-alcoholic) drink of WeDew Mountain Dew with the refreshing taste of cherry limeade! (Hit me up, Pepsico!)

Challenge: Building A Building (Anchor Attractions)

This week, we look at the big show-stopping attractions for each side of our new theme park. Jim, having done little preparation last week, gets more in-depth on his vision for his side of the park and its new showcase attraction The Golden Coaster, because when one is talking theme park history, it's hard to ignore how important the coaster is. The attraction also includes exhibits, ways to design your own coaster (think CyberSpace Mountain), and other fun surprises.

Meanwhile, Scottye takes his guests on a tour of The Secrets Of The Unicorn. In this zero-drink minimum family-fun attraction (a phrase no one in the theme park business has probably ever typed before), guests travel to the cave of the mystical unicorn and help it wage war against Rat Fink, who is seemingly the mascot of this side of the park. Afterward, enter the requisite gift shop/requisite-for-this-park bar to try some Cave Water, which is apparently just a Blue Hawaiian but probably in some kind of souvenir container for an exorbitant price. This is a theme park after all.

It's the season premiere and you know what that means - a brand new theme park! This time, Scottye and Jim put themselves against each other to create the Opposite Attractions theme park of their dreams. Jim controls one half, Scottye controls the other, a line in the sand has been drawn like so many sitcom sibling rivalries.

What do we learn this episode? Scottye has lots of ideas, some of which include dicks. Jim has a history lesson, not so many dicks though.
